Top 5 Social Networking Apps in Ukraine: Q3 2024 Performance Analysis

In the third quarter of 2024, the social networking landscape in Ukraine saw varying trends across the top five apps on the unified platform, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Threads from Instagram, Inc. experienced a notable increase in downloads, starting at around 61K in early July and peaking at approximately 112K in mid-September. Weekly active users also showed a strong upward trajectory, growing from about 719K to over 1.2M by the end of September. Revenue data was not available for this app during the quarter.

WhatsApp Messenger, published by WhatsApp Inc., maintained a stable download pattern with a peak at approximately 115K in early September. The weekly active users remained robust, fluctuating slightly but hovering around 1.6M to 1.7M throughout the quarter.

Telegram Messenger from Telegram FZ-LLC showed consistent revenue growth, starting at around $167K and reaching a peak of approximately $284K by late September. Downloads presented a mixed trend with a decrease from about 92K to 82K. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, slightly declining from over 11.6M to 11.3M.

Rakuten Viber Messenger demonstrated an increase in revenue, peaking at nearly $22.8K by the end of September. Downloads, however, saw a downtrend from around 59K to 53K. Active users initially decreased but later stabilized, ending the quarter at approximately 8.4M.

Lastly, Google Meet by Google observed a significant rise in downloads, particularly in early September with a peak of about 55K. Weekly active users also increased, particularly in early September, reaching over 556K. Revenue data was not available for this app.
